Conditions & Notices
- Fasting: It is preferable to collect the sample in the morning before eating or drinking (after drinking water only to clean the mouth).
- Before treatment: It is preferable to collect the sample before starting antibiotics to obtain an accurate result. If the patient is taking antibiotics, the laboratory must be informed.
- Oral hygiene: Brush your teeth and rinse your mouth thoroughly with water before collecting the sample (without using sterile mouthwash) to reduce sample contamination with saliva.
