Conditions & Notices
- The timing of your menstrual cycle is important: To obtain meaningful FSH and LH results, the sample should be taken on the second or third day of your menstrual cycle (the first day being the first day of bleeding). Confirm this with the laboratory when scheduling your appointment.
- Prolactin test: It is best to perform this test in the morning (9-12 pm) at least two hours after waking up, resting for 30 minutes beforehand in a quiet environment. Avoid breast stimulation or strain before the test.
- Fasting: Fasting is not required for these hormones, but it is preferable to perform the withdrawal in the morning.
- Stop taking supplements: Inform your doctor about any supplements containing biotin (vitamin B7), as they may interfere with some measurement methods.
