  • Timing of the menstrual cycle (important): For accurate reproductive hormone results, the sample should be taken on the second or third day of the menstrual cycle (the first day being the first day of actual bleeding). If the cycle has stopped, the test can be done at any time.
  • Fasting: It is recommended to fast for 8-12 hours before the test for optimal results, especially for fat. Water is permitted.
  • Avoid supplements: Stop taking iron, zinc, biotin, or multivitamin supplements 48-72 hours before the test to obtain accurate baseline readings.
  • Rest: Avoid strenuous physical activity before the examination, as it may affect the levels of certain hormones such as cortisol (not listed) and DHEA-S.
  • Morning timing: It is preferable to collect the sample in the morning.
