About this service

Pregnancy Test is a diagnostic test used to detect the presence of the pregnancy hormone known as hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) in urine or blood. The test is typically performed after a missed menstrual period and can yield accurate results within a few days of conception. The pregnancy test can be done at home using over-the-counter urine test kits or in a medical laboratory using a blood sample. The presence of hCG indicates pregnancy, as the body begins to produce this hormone after a fertilized egg implants in the uterine lining. This test is an essential tool for women who suspect they may be pregnant, helping them make informed early health decisions—whether to begin prenatal care or prepare for lifestyle changes. It is always recommended to consult a healthcare professional to confirm the results and discuss the available options.

Purpose Test

Presence of the Pregnancy Hormone (hCG): Measures the levels of the pregnancy hormone produced after the fertilized egg implants in the uterine wall. This hormone is considered a key indicator of pregnancy.
Early Pregnancy Detection: Helps identify pregnancy even before a missed period, allowing women to make early health decisions.
Detection of Ectopic Pregnancy or Special Cases: Sometimes, abnormal hCG levels can indicate conditions such as ectopic pregnancy or other complications, requiring further medical follow-up.
