CD55 (DAF) Lymphocyte Test | Lahalak Platform
This test measures the CD55 protein, which protects your cells from accidental immune system attacks. It is crucial for diagnosing paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria and other hemolytic conditions.
Scientific name: Lymphocyte CD55 (DAF) Surface Marker Test
Flow cytometry is used to assess the expression of CD55 protein (also known as Decay Accelerating Factor - DAF) on the surface of lymphocytes and red blood cells. CD55 plays a crucial role in regulating the complement system by preventing its activation on the surfaces of healthy cells, thus protecting them from autoinfection.
Included Services
- Since the "service type" is "individual analysis", the standard template is used):
- Detailed analysis to diagnose CD55 expression levels on lymphocytes using flow cytometry
- Consult a hematologist or immunologist to interpret the results.
- Personal support services from Lahalak

Conditions & Notices
- Fasting is not required. Blood can be drawn at any time.
- The sample should be drawn into a flow cytometry tube (EDTA - purple tube).
- The analysis should be performed in a specialist laboratory, as CD55 is often measured along with CD59 in the same diagnostic panel for PNH disease.
- Bring any previous blood test results related to anemia or a complete blood count.
