- The method of sample collection and transport depends on the type of sample and its source. The liquid container provided by the laboratory should be used for LBCs, not regular containers.
- The sample should be sent to the laboratory as soon as possible to preserve cell viability.
- The application form must be accompanied by complete clinical information about the patient, the anatomical location of the specimen, and the suspected diagnosis.
- For some samples (like urine): a first sample in the morning or a medium-flow sample may be needed.
