NKX2.2 Bone Tumor IHC Test | Lahalak Platform

Advanced diagnostic technology for detecting Ewing's sarcoma and neuroblastomas, providing molecular confirmation that supports histological diagnosis and helps design a precise, targeted treatment path for the patient.

Scientific name: Immunohistochemistry (IHC) for NKX2.2

Immunohistochemical assay for NKX2.2 (NK2 Homeobox 2) aims to detect this nuclear transcription factor involved in the development of the central nervous system and pancreatic islet cells. It is currently considered a highly sensitive and specific marker for Ewing sarcoma family tumors (ESFT), which include Ewing sarcoma of bone, extraosseous Ewing...

Conditions & Notices

  • Fasting is not required, as the sample is tissue-based (bone or soft tissue biopsy).
  • The tissue sample must be immediately preserved in 10% formalin.
  • This analysis is routinely requested when a small round cell tumor is suspected, particularly if Ewing's tumor is in the differential diagnosis.
  • It is typically requested as part of a comprehensive diagnostic package for small round cell tumors, with markers such as CD99, FLI-1, and other exclusion markers (Myogenin, LCA, Synaptophysin). Its request should be accompanied by a request for FISH testing for the EWSR1 gene.
