Immunohistochemistry for CD34 detects a transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on hematopoietic stem cells, vascular endothelial cells, capillary pericytes, and some mesenchymal cells in connective tissue. It is a sensitive marker for many soft tissue tumors of vascular endothelial or mesenchymal origin.

Conditions & Notices
- Fasting is not required for histological examination (biopsy sample). If the analysis is on a blood sample for stem cell monitoring, fasting requirements are determined according to the treatment protocol.
- Histological samples must be properly preserved in 10% formalin.
- For stem cell count (CD34+), the sample type (peripheral blood, bone marrow, cell aspiration product) and method of transport must be clearly specified.
- Include the suspected diagnosis to ensure the selection of the correct complementary immunotherapy package.
