Conditions & Notices
- Fasting is not required, as the sample is histological (biopsy or resection).
- The histological sample must be immediately preserved in 10% formalin to maintain the antigens.
- This analysis is almost routinely ordered along with CK20 as part of the first step in diagnosing metastatic carcinoma of unknown origin.
