Conditions & Notices
- Fasting is not required, as the sample is histological (biopsy or excision specimen).
- The histological specimen must be properly preserved in 10% formalin to maintain antigen integrity.
- This analysis is almost routinely ordered with CK7. Information regarding the suspected tumor site (metastatic vs. primary) and other required markers should be included.
- If Merkel cell tumor is suspected, this must be explicitly stated to ensure accurate interpretation of the karyotype.
