Conditions & Notices
- Fasting is not required, but it is preferable to draw the sample before the next dose of factor IX (at least 72 hours after the last therapeutic dose), to avoid interference with the therapeutic factor in the sample and to obtain an accurate result of the true inhibitor level.
- A blood sample is drawn into a tube containing citrate (blue tube).
- The laboratory must be informed of the date and time of the last dose of Factor IX received.
- The doctor may request a re-examination for confirmation if the result is positive for the first time.
