Medical Service Information
Conditions & Notices
- Fasting: Not required for the examination itself (it relates to taking the tissue sample).
- Sample collection: The sample must be taken sterilely during a surgical procedure (biopsy) and placed in a sterile container without formalin (as formalin damages DNA). Transport vehicles specifically designed for molecular analysis must be used.
- Transportation: The sample must be transported to the laboratory quickly, maintaining the cold chain if necessary.
- Additional tests: A portion of the sample should always be taken and sent for histopathology and bacterial culture.
