Medical Service Information
Conditions & Notices
- Fasting is not required for the tissue examination itself, but it is required for the accompanying surgery and anesthesia.
- It is very important to provide the laboratory with the previous biopsy report (if available) and the surgeon’s detailed report showing the location of the specimen, suspicious margins, and any specific diagnostic questions the surgeon needs to answer.
- The time required for the result to be issued may be longer (5-10 working days) compared to the small biopsy, due to the increased number of cassettes that need to be processed and examined, and the possibility of needing additional immunohistochemical stains.
