  • The sample collection instructions are precise:
  • For men: First-void urine sample after abstaining from urination for at least two hours, or a urethral swab.
  • For women: A swab from the cervix or vagina taken during a gynecological exam, or a sample of first ejaculate urine.
  • Sexual intercourse, the use of vaginal douches, topical creams, and antibiotics should be avoided for 24-48 hours before sample collection.
  • Women should not take the sample during their menstrual period (it is preferable to wait until it has ended at least two days later).
  • Transport the sample to the laboratory quickly according to the preservation instructions (usually at room temperature or refrigerated).
