Respiratory & Meningitis Panel | Lahalak Platform
Comprehensive and rapid diagnosis of viruses causing respiratory infections and meningitis using PCR technology, accelerating correct treatment and reducing unnecessary antibiotic use.
Scientific name: Respiratory and Meningitis Viral Panel by PCR
This molecular assay uses multiplex polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technology to detect the genetic material (DNA/RNA) of a wide range of common viruses that cause respiratory infections and meningitis. The assay typically includes viruses such as influenza (A, B), respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), adenoviruses, rhinoviruses, and enteroviruses (e...

Conditions & Notices
- Fasting is not required.
- The conditions for collecting the sample depend on its type:
- Nasopharyngeal swab: taken at the onset of symptoms (first 3-5 days), and before any antiviral treatment.
- Cerebrospinal fluid: It is collected by a specialist doctor (lumbar puncture) in case of suspected meningitis.
- The sample must be transported to the laboratory quickly and under appropriate cooling conditions (usually 2-8°C) to maintain the stability of the virus's genetic material.
- Inform the laboratory of the suspected initial diagnosis (respiratory or meningeal) in order to guide the analysis accurately.
