Conditions & Notices

  • The best time to take a blood sample is between 48-72 hours after birth, and after starting breastfeeding or formula feeding.
  • For infants being transferred to the NICU or receiving a blood transfusion: a blood sample should be taken before the transfusion if possible, or according to a hospital-specific protocol, with a repeat examination at 7-14 days of age.
  • Hearing test: This is usually done when the child is quiet or asleep, and preferably before leaving the hospital.
  • Pulse oximetry check: Performed when the baby is stable, usually 24 hours after birth.
  • The consent form and information must be filled out accurately, and the laboratory must be provided with all the child's basic data (weight, gestational age, sample age, nutrition information).
