Fascin IHC Test for Dendritic Cells | Lahalak Platform
A specialized analysis helping diagnose and differentiate tumors arising from dendritic cells, providing accurate information for precise histological classification.
Scientific name: Immunohistochemistry: Fascin
Immunohistochemical testing for Fascin aims to detect this actin-binding protein, which plays a role in cell motility and membrane protrusion. It is normally expressed in dendritic cells (such as Langerhans cells) and in some epithelial cells. It is used as an adjunct marker in the diagnosis of squamous cell carcinoma (particularly of the head, nec...

Conditions & Notices
- Fasting is not required, as the sample is a tissue sample (biopsy).
- The biopsy sample must be immediately preserved in 10% formalin.
- This analysis is usually requested as a complementary marker within a diagnostic package, not as a standalone primary test. The suspected diagnosis must be clearly identified (e.g., SCC vs. Adenocarcinoma, or evaluation of histiocytosis).
- Sending an additional paraffin block may be required if the package is ordered after the initial histological examination.
