Conditions & Notices
- Fasting is not required
- The most important requirement: The biopsy must be taken and immediately placed in a special refrigerated transport medium (such as Medium Michel) and not in formalin. Placing it in regular formalin destroys the immunoglobulins and invalidates the test. It is essential to ensure that the treating physician and the laboratory are in contact regarding this matter.
- The sample should be taken from the correct location (the healthy skin immediately adjacent to the lesion, not from the center of the ulcer).
