Conditions & Notices

  • Accurate 24-hour urine collection: This is the essential and most important requirement. Collection usually begins by emptying the bladder first thing in the morning (e.g., at 8 a.m.) without saving this sample. All urine samples collected over the next 24 hours are then collected in the designated container provided by the laboratory, including the first urine sample the following morning at the same time (e.g., 8 a.m.). The container must be kept refrigerated during the collection period.
  • Fasting is not required for blood collection, but a normal diet should be followed and strenuous physical exertion should be avoided during the sample collection period.
  • Inform your doctor about all medications and supplements you are taking, as many can affect the results. Your doctor may ask you to stop taking certain medications before the test.
  • Avoid consuming alcohol during the sample collection period.
