Molybdenum Hair Analysis

An analytical package based on inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) is used to determine the concentration of molybdenum and other elements in a hair sample. Hair is an excellent biological indicator of chronic metal exposure, as molybdenum is deposited in it at a constant rate during hair growth, reflecting nutritional status and environmental exposure over the preceding 2–3 months.
