Leishmania Detection Smear Test

Direct microscopic examination of a sample (from skin lesion, bone marrow, lymph node, or spleen) after staining with Giemsa stain to search for intracellular parasite form (amastigote) specific to Leishmania. Considered one of the primary direct diagnostic methods.
