Immunohistochemistry for DOG-1 (Discovered On GIST-1) aims to detect the DOG-1 protein (also known as ANO1), a calcium-activated chloride channel. Its expression is a highly sensitive and specific marker for Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumors (GISTs), and it is often positive even in PDGFRA-mutated GISTs or those that are negative for CD117 (KIT).
