The IgG food intolerance test is a serological test that measures the level of IgG antibodies (immunoglobulin G) directed against specific antigens derived from 240 common foods. Elevated IgG levels against a particular food are thought to indicate a delayed immune reaction (type III), which may be associated with nonspecific symptoms in the gastrointestinal tract and other systems. This reaction differs from immediate food allergies (mediated by IgE) and does not involve anaphylaxis.
