This laboratory package includes measuring the levels of five key biomarkers (tumor markers) in blood serum, which are associated with common cancers in women. These include: alpha-fetoprotein (AFP), associated with liver cancer and some testicular and ovarian tumors; carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), associated with colon, breast, lung, and pancreatic cancers; CA 15-3, associated with breast cancer; CA 19-9, associated with pancreatic, biliary tract, and gastrointestinal cancers; and CA 125, primarily associated with ovarian cancer. These markers are mainly used for follow-up and not for general screening of healthy individuals.
