MDM2 Liposarcoma Diagnostic Test - MDM2 Immunohistochemistry Test

Immunohistochemical (IHC) assays for MDM2 (Mouse Double Minute 2 homolog) are designed to detect the overexpression of the MDM2 protein within cell nuclei. This overexpression is closely associated with the amplification of the MDM2 gene on chromosome 12q14-15, a molecular hallmark of well-differentiated liposarcoma/atypical lipomatous tumors and dedifferentiated liposarcoma. It is useful in differentiating these malignant tumors from benign lipomas.
