Total Protein S Test

A quantitative immunoassay (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay - ELISA or immunochemical assay) measures the total concentration of S protein (free and C4b-binding protein-bound forms) in blood plasma. It measures the total amount of protein regardless of its functional state (active or inactive) and is an essential complement to assaying the activity of free S protein.
