Metastatic Tumor Origin Test - Immunohistochemistry (IHC): CDX2

This diagnostic package, based on immunohistochemistry, involves testing for a range of markers to determine the origin of cancerous metastases. The package primarily includes testing for CDX2, a nuclear transcription factor expressed in the nuclei of normal and cancerous epithelial cells in the small intestine and colon, as well as the essential complementary markers: CK20 (a cytokeratin found in digestive and bladder epithelial cells), CK7 (a cytokeratin found in lung, breast, ovarian, and pancreatic epithelial cells), and PAX8 (for kidney, uterine, and ovarian tumors). The package aims to determine whether metastases originate from the colon (CDX2+/CK20+/CK7-) or from other sites (such as the stomach, pancreas, and ovary).
