- Sample collection: The sample must be collected before starting any antibiotic treatment. Using the mid-stream clean sample method is essential to minimize contamination.
- Speed of transport: The sample must be transported to the laboratory within one hour of collection. If transport is delayed, it must be kept refrigerated (4°C) for no more than 24 hours.
