- Sample type: First-void urine (FVU). This is the first part of the urethra (about 20-30 ml) when urinating for the first time in the morning, or after abstaining from urination for at least one hour before collecting the sample.
- Collection instructions: Do not urinate for at least one hour before collecting the sample. The sample must be collected in the sterile container provided by the laboratory. For women: Clean the genital area with water and avoid introducing vaginal secretions into the sample.
- The sample must be brought to the laboratory as soon as possible.
