- Fasting is not required
- The hair sample should be collected from the roots (closest to the scalp) to obtain a recent chronological record.
- Avoid using anti-dandruff shampoo or special hair treatments (such as heavy oils) for a week before taking the sample if possible, and inform the laboratory of any recent chemical treatments (dye, bleaching, perming).
- Store the sample in a clean paper bag (not plastic) and send it to the laboratory.
