  • Fasting is not required. Blood must be drawn into special tubes provided by the laboratory for the test (containing stimulants and inhibitors).
  • The sample must be processed and incubated in the laboratory within 16 hours of blood collection (according to the laboratory's exact instructions). Therefore, the blood draw appointment should be arranged with the laboratory in advance, and prompt sample transport should be ensured.
  • The doctor should be informed of any medical conditions that affect immunity or any immunosuppressant medications the patient is taking.
