Conditions & Notices
- Fasting for 8-12 hours (for infants and children, a shorter fasting period may be permitted by the doctor). Water is allowed.
- Food supplements containing amino acids should be avoided for 48 hours before the examination unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor.
- In emergency situations (such as infants in a coma), the sample is taken immediately regardless of the fasting status.
- Sample required: Plasma from whole blood with the anticoagulant heparin or EDTA. The plasma should be separated immediately and frozen if the analysis is delayed.
