Medical Service Information
Conditions & Notices
- It is preferable to fast for 9-12 hours before drawing a blood sample for a complete lipid profile, in order to obtain accurate values for total cholesterol, HDL, and triglycerides, from which Non-HDL is calculated.
- If the test is performed without fasting, Non-HDL can also be calculated, but the total cholesterol and triglyceride values (and therefore the result) may be slightly higher.
- Inform your doctor about all medications you are using, especially cholesterol-lowering medications.
- To obtain an accurate picture, the examination should be carried out in a state of stable health, and not during an acute illness.
