Conditions & Notices
- Fasting is not required. Blood can be drawn at any time.
- • Timing of the sample is important: IgM usually appears a week after the onset of symptoms and peaks within 3-6 weeks. It is preferable to collect the sample a week after the onset of symptoms.
- For a more accurate diagnosis, especially in complicated cases, it is recommended to take two serum samples: an acute (early) sample and a convalescent sample (after 2-4 weeks) to assess the titer elevation.
- Inform the doctor if the patient has recently received a blood transfusion or immunoglobulin, as this may affect the results.
