Mycoplasma Genitalium PCR Test | Lahalak Platform
Accurate and rapid detection of Mycoplasma bacteria causing silent genital infections using advanced PCR technology. This ensures correct treatment and prevents long-term complications or antibiotic resistance.
Scientific name: Mycoplasma Genitalium PCR Test
The Mycoplasma genitalium PCR test is a highly sensitive and specific molecular assay. It aims to detect the DNA of Mycoplasma genitalium bacteria in clinical samples such as cervical swabs, urethral swabs, or first-time urine. These bacteria are small and cannot be cultured using conventional methods, making PCR the optimal diagnostic technique.

Conditions & Notices
- The type of sample depends on the sex: For men: a urine sample from the first flow (the first part of the urethra) or a urethral swab. For women: a swab from the cervix or vagina.
- Optimal timing: The sample should be taken before starting any antibiotic treatment. If the patient is taking antibiotics, a 3-4 week waiting period after the end of treatment should be observed before taking the sample to confirm recovery (recovery test).
- For women: It is preferable not to take the sample during the menstrual period.
