Conditions & Notices
- Fasting is not required. Blood can be drawn at any time.
- There is no need to stop medications used to treat myasthenia gravis (such as pyridostigmine) before the examination, unless the neurologist recommends otherwise.
- • Draw a sufficient blood sample into a serum tube (red tube) or an SST tube.
- Because antibodies can fluctuate, a patient may need to be retested if symptoms are severe and the initial result is negative.
