- Fasting is not routinely required, unless anesthesia requires it based on instructions from the surgeon or anesthesiologist.
- Inform the doctor of all medications, especially blood thinners (such as warfarin, aspirin, clopidogrel), as he may ask you to stop them a few days before the procedure under his supervision.
- Inform the doctor of any bleeding disorders or allergies to local anesthetic.
- Avoid strenuous physical activity on the muscle from which the biopsy was taken for one to two weeks after the procedure.
