CDK4 Fatty Tissue Tumor Test | Lahalak Platform
An advanced diagnostic package combining immunohistochemistry and molecular evaluation for complex sarcomas and lipomas, aiding in genetic abnormality identification and prognosis.
Scientific name: Immunohistochemistry (IHC): CDK4
A comprehensive diagnostic package based on immunohistochemical (IHC) and fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) techniques. The package primarily includes testing for CDK4 (Cyclin-Dependent Kinase 4) protein expression, an enzyme that regulates the cell cycle and whose expression is elevated in many high-grade liposarcomas, as well as essential...
Included Services
- IHC testing of the expression of the two key proteins CDK4 and MDM2 to detect the characteristic shared pattern.
- The S-100 marker was examined as a complementary marker to evaluate certain tumor components.
- Consult with a pathologist specializing in soft tissue tumors to interpret the initial results.
- Direct recommendation and guidance to perform FISH testing to confirm MDM2 gene amplification when needed based on the IHC result.
Medical Service Information
Conditions & Notices
- Submission of a complete and sufficiently sized tissue block (paraffin block) of the suspected fat biopsy specimen is required.
- It is necessary to attach the initial pathology report, the exact location of the tumor (very important), and the imaging results (MRI).
- The patient does not need to fast, as the sample is tissue-based.
- The IHC test typically takes 5 to 7 business days to complete. If FISH confirmation is recommended, the total processing time may increase to 10-14 business days.
