Conditions & Notices
- Fasting is not required, as the sample is tissue (liver biopsy).
- The biopsy specimen must be preserved immediately in 10% formalin. Fine-needle aspiration (FNA) biopsies are also suitable if converted into a cell block.
- This analysis is usually requested when HCC is suspected, especially if the routine histological diagnosis is uncertain.
- It is often requested as part of a liver tumor package that also includes HepPar-1, Arginase-1, CD10, and CK7.
