Conditions & Notices
- Mandatory fasting for 8-12 hours before starting the test.
- Eat a normal diet containing carbohydrates (at least 150g/day) for 3 days before the test. Avoid low-carbohydrate diets immediately before the test as they may give false results.
- Inform your doctor about all medications, as some (such as corticosteroids, thiazide diuretics) may affect the results.
- The test should be postponed in case of acute illness (cold, inflammation), because stress may temporarily raise blood sugar.
