Conditions & Notices
- Fasting is not required: generally, but fasting for 8-12 hours is preferred for some accuracy.
- Special requirements for PSA testing: Very important: The following must be avoided for at least 48 hours before the test: sexual intercourse, ejaculation, deep rectal examination, and long-distance cycling. The test should be performed at least 3 weeks before any prostate procedure (such as catheterization) or in the presence of an acute urinary tract infection.
- Stop smoking: more than an hour before the test if possible, because it may raise CEA.
- This is a specialized package: it should be requested and interpreted by a qualified physician. It is not recommended as a routine preventative screening for healthy individuals without symptoms or obvious risk factors.
