Conditions & Notices
- Fasting is not required
- A fresh (not frozen) stool sample must be collected in a sterile container, preferably liquid or semi-liquid. Solid or compacted stool samples are not acceptable.
- The sample must be transported to the laboratory as soon as possible (within two hours) or kept in the refrigerator if a delay is unavoidable.
- The laboratory should be informed if the patient is taking any antibiotics or anti-diarrheal medications.
