Conditions & Notices
- Fasting is not required: These tests can be performed at any time without the need to fast.
- Timing of sampling: There is no specific timing, but if the goal is to monitor the response to treatment, it is best to maintain approximately the same timing for successive samples.
- Medication effects: Some medications (such as cortisone) lower ESR and CRP levels. The doctor should be informed of all medications the patient is taking.
- Other medical conditions: Conditions other than asthma (such as autoimmune diseases, infections elsewhere in the body) may affect the results of these tests, so they should be interpreted in the context of the whole patient.
