- • Essential requirement: The total serum IgA level must be measured first. This test (EMA-IgG) is only requested if the total IgA level is low, or if other IgA tests are negative with strong clinical suspicion.
- Food condition: The patient must have a nutrient containing gluten for at least 6-8 weeks before the examination. Follow gluten-free diet will lead to false negative result.
- Fasting is not required.
- No other special preparations are required.
