Breath Test for H. Pylori - Urea Breath Test (UBT)

The urea breath test (UBT) uses the non-radioactive isotope carbon-13 (13C). It is used to diagnose active Helicobacter pylori infection by measuring labeled carbon dioxide in exhaled breath after ingestion of a labeled urea solution. It is considered a non-invasive gold standard for diagnosing this infection and monitoring the body's response to eradicative treatment.
