Trichrome staining (such as Masson's Trichrome or Gomori's Trichrome) is a group of histological techniques that use three or more dyes to stain different tissue components in contrasting colors. The classic (Masson's) setup yields: collagen fibers in blue or green, muscle fibers, red blood cells (RBCs), and keratin in red, and nuclei in black/brown. This contrast allows for a detailed assessment of the relationship between connective tissue and other tissues.
