Rapid Malaria Antigen Test

Rapid test to detect specific antigens (proteins) of malaria parasite in peripheral blood, using lateral flow immunoassay technique (digital or strip type). Usually detects specific antigens like HRP-2/pLDH produced by Plasmodium parasites, especially the fatal type Plasmodium falciparum. Used as rapid diagnostic test (RDT) that complements or precedes traditional microscopic diagnosis.
