Parathyroid Antibody Screening - Parathyroid Antibody Test

This test measures the presence and quantity of autoantibodies directed against parathyroid gland tissue in the blood. These antibodies indicate an autoimmune reaction that may cause inflammation and progressive damage to these glands, eventually leading to hypoparathyroidism (PTH deficiency) and low blood calcium levels. The presence of these antibodies is often associated with other autoimmune diseases.
