Inflammation and Cell Tumor Test - Immunohistochemistry (IHC): CD68

This diagnostic package, based on immunohistochemistry, involves testing for a range of markers specific to phagocytic cells (macrophages) and other immune cells. The package primarily includes testing for CD68 (PG-M1), a potent cytoplasmic and membrane marker of phagocytic cells (macrophages/monocytes), as well as essential complementary markers: lysozyme (a cytoplasmic enzyme in macrophages and myeloid cells), CD163 (a hemoglobin receptor, more specific to macrophages), and T-cell markers such as CD3. The package aims to identify and characterize phagocytic assemblages in tissues and to help differentiate between chronic inflammation and certain tumors, such as xanthomas, granulomatous fibroblasts (GCTs), and granulocytic sarcomas.
