Fibrinogen Level Test

A fibrinogen level test is a quantitative measurement of the concentration of fibrinogen (clotting factor I) in blood plasma. Fibrinogen is produced in the liver and converted by thrombin to insoluble fibrin, which forms the basic network of a blood clot. This test measures the amount of this protein available and is an important biomarker of coagulation efficiency and an indicator of acute inflammation.
